Pears Kahlúa

MAKES 6 SERVINGS

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 can (15 ounces) Bartlett pear halves packed in syrup
  • 1 cup heavy cream, divided use
  • 1 package (3-3/4 ounce) vanilla-flavored instant pudding and pie filing
  • 1/3 cup coffee-flavored liqueur
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • Toasted sliced almonds for garnish
  • METHOD

    Drain pears, reserving 1/2 cup syrup. In large mixing bowl, combine reserved pear syrup and 1/2 cup cream; add pudding mix. Using electric mixer, beat on lowest speed until blended, about 2 minutes. Divide mixture evenly among 6 stemmed dessert dishes; Chill until set. Before serving, place one pear half, cut side up, on top of each serving. Pour 2 to 3 teaspoons of liqueur slowly over each serving. Whip remaining cream until soft peaks form; gently beat in sugar. Top each serving with whipped cream and sprinkle with almonds.
