GRADES AND KOSHER DESIGNATION

Pacific Northwest canned Bartlett pears are packed in Standard and Choice grades. Grade refers to the appearance, taste and texture of the pear. The qualities that determine the grade include the shape of the pear, the trimrning of the peeled pear and the character of the pear. Character refers to the degree of ripeness, texture and tenderness of the pear.

Pacific Northwest canned Bartlett producers have sought and received kosher certification. Kosher certification symbols may be found on many canned pear labels.
